Katherine William-Powlett shares her thoughts on innovation and on leadership in the voluntary sector. Katherine no longer works for NCVO but her posts have been archived on this site for reference.

If you are wondering what Innovation could mean for your organisation, you could do worse than read Innovation Matters.   It has lots of relevant charity case studies and an Innovation Challenge to get you thinking about what you are doing in your own organisation to encourage innovation.

“Innovation Matters is a very practical, readable and thought-provoking guide to relevant to and applicable by anyone in any organisation, large or small.” Rob Jackson; ex Director of Development and Innovation; Volunteering England

“Innovation Matters is essential reading for organisations and individuals serious about success, a concise, well written guide and excellent background to enable you to springboard your innovation” Lucy Gower Product Development Manager NSPCC

If you are hungry for more and want to really understand how to encourage a culture of ‘Everyday innovation’  read the report of that name downloadable from the NESTA website.
The other blogs and video on the Innovative Environment page all aim at giving you practical advice on getting your organisation where it needs to be to innovate.
